Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Wire Rope Thimble

Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Wire Rope Thimble
Product Details

Description

Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Wire Rope Thimble is a steel bar that provides a structure for the end ring of a stainless steel wire rope (or wire rope) so that when Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Wire Rope Thimble is fixed, the force at the support point is evenly distributed along the length of the thimble and minimize wear and tear on the wires.

Stainless steel thimbles are rope thimbles required for high humidity or highly corrosive environments, such as marine rigging. These thimbles are made of heavy duty 304 stainless steel to help extend the life of the wire rope and prevent wire rope deformation and corrosion from other hardware.

Product Feature

The wire rope thimble not only provides safety measures, but also extends the life of the wire rope. Due to the corrosion resistance of stainless steel, it is very suitable for general heavy-duty applications. Therefore, the wire rope thimble we provide is made of high-quality stainless steel, because Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Wire Rope Thimble is usually uesd in exposed outdoor environment.

The purpose of the thimble is to emphasize and support the eye by surrounding the outside of the wire rope. The thimble forms a durable wear surface and helps support the wire rope eye. For durability, the use of stainless steel sleeves allows for use in highly corrosive environments; therefore, stainless steel sleeves provide additional safety against eye erosion and deformation.

Use

Typically, the end of a length of wire passes through the swaged side, then the wire is wrapped around the ejector pin and the end of the wire is swaged. The die forging and thimbles are then secured using a manual crimping tool. The thimble forms a "ring" that is typically secured to a saddle that has been secured to a post or post that forms a frame or region that will contain the wire.

If permitted, a larger thimble can be used with a small diameter wire to provide protection or to form a larger ring.
